A Letter to JNU International Students
To all the international students of Jinan University,
During this unprecedented pandemic, COVID-19, international students of Jinan University stood in solidarity with each other and with their university. JNU was deeply appreciative of the way you supported the school, actively participated in online courses, took diverse actions to fight against the virus, and joined hands together with Chinese classmates through the most difficult days. Moving forward after the spring semester, we are preparing for a new start in the golden autumn. Jinan University is ready to open her arms to welcome both fresh and senior international students from around the world.
Before the new semester begins, we need to bring your attention to the following:
Students are permitted to return to their JNU campus in turn starting from August 20; international students currently staying in low-risk regions of China should return to their campus as required after being notified by JNU. Please consult your department/ school for the detailed requirement.
International students presently living abroad will not be able to return to campus for the time being; you should pay close attention to the latest international pandemic situation and the updates of the Chinese immigration authority. JNU will ensure that you receive the most up-to-date information so you can return to the campus as soon as possible; please stay close contact with your school/department.
Students living in China can apply for the issue and renewal of their student visa now. Please consult the JNU security department for further details.
International students in some foreign nations may apply for a student visa to enter China. JNU will provide necessary assistance to students for their application; however, the policy has only been exercised in a limited number of countries. Please contact the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate general for the latest visa policy.
JNU will resume normal teaching and start online and on-site courses on September 8. Please contact your school/department for the details of course schedules. Meanwhile, both online and on-site registration will also be implemented then. Please get ready for tuition payment, registration and sign-up of course modules upon the notice of your school/department.
Welcome back to the new semester! Whether you are continuing online or are back with us in-person, we are happy to see you and we wish you all the best with your studies!
